This craft, like so many of mine, has come from stuff I have lying around the house.  You may have guessed, by now, that I have a ginormous craft stash.  One of my best friends was telling me about how she became a minimalist. Which sounds amazing. I definitely own too much stuff and I need to get rid of it. But I can’t bring myself to get rid of my craft stash.  So I’ve yet to start my minimalism quest. Any minimalists out there, let me know in the comments what you did about your craft stash??

Let’s get into the DIY.

What you’ll need for this DIY word wall art

  • Photo frame – mine was a4 size
  • Masking tape
  • Spray paint
  • Scrapbook paper

How to make this DIY word wall art

Clean the glass of the frame so there is no grease on it.

Mask out the letters on to the glass of the frame. I tear off the end of the masking tape instead of cutting it because I’ve seen that look is really popular at the moment. Make sure to press down the masking tape so no paint will get in under it.

Take the glass out of the frame and spray paint it. Make sure to do it outside and put down some newspaper or cardboard down. I speak from bitter experience, as I may or may not have accidentally spray painted in the house and got it everywhere. I’m not admitting to anything though!

Remove the masking tape while the paint is still wet. It stops the paint from bleeding if you do this. Try not to scratch up the wet paint like I did…oops!

While your waiting for the paint to dry pick out the scrapbook paper and cut it to size.  When the paint is dry pop the glass and scrapbook paper back into the frame.
